JCMC is pleased to announce that Dr. David Ahlberg has joined our practice as a specialist in Psychiatric Medicine. Dr. Ahlberg is available to provide consultation and treatment to adults and children of all ages. His association with JCMC allows us increase our comprehensive care for all our patients and provide them a medical doctor that is Board Certified in Addiction Medicine. Dr. Ahlberg is a long-term member of the Onslow County and Eastern North Carolina medical community and joins JCMC with many years of experience in dealing with patients of all ages. Dr. Ahlberg specialization in Psychiatric Medicine ensures that JCMC patients children and adults are afforded the opportunity to address their behavioral healthcare needs within our medical group and without dealing with the sometimes difficult referral process. Also, Dr. Ahlberg is an additional resource and subject matter expert for our pediatricians that may currently be addressing a child’s psychological needs. Dr. Ahlberg works closely with all the providers at JCMC, Naval Hospital, Camp Lejeune, area hospitals and community providers for enhanced services.  Currently have three staff members that are fluent in Spanish and one in Russian.

Jacksonville Children’s Clinic offers a wide variety of psychological testing as part of your child’s wellness examination and we have board certified pediatricians at the Jacksonville Children’s Clinic with special interest in management of ADHD patients. Testing is provided for children aged 2 through 17years. If you child is experiencing difficulty socially (e.g., anxiety, shyness), academically (e.g., Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Learning Disorders), developmentally (e.g., Autism), or behaviorally (e.g., depression, aggression), we will be happy to explore possible underlying causes for such difficulties and provide recommendations based on the findings.

Therapeutic services are offered in the form of individual and family therapy. Sessions are focused on the presenting issues of the child/family.
